For this in-depth trip to Hangzhou, I chose to stay at Hangzhou West Lake Liuyingli Hotel. The biggest feeling after staying was that I chose the right location, which saved half of the trouble of rushing on the entire West Lake trip. I didn't have to get up early to squeeze a bus, and could leisurely explore the scenery of the southern route and the hustle and bustle of old Hangzhou.
The convenience of transportation is completely beyond expectations. The nearest bus stop to the hotel is Wushan Bus Station, which is only a 7-minute walk away. There are more than ten bus routes, such as Route 25, Route 35, Route 108, and Route 10, stopping here. If you want to go directly to Hubin, Lingyin, and East Railway Station, you don't have to repeatedly transfer trains. The nearest subway station is Nanxingqiao Station on Line 4, which is a 17 minute walk from the entrance. Taking Line 4 to Hangzhou East Station and Qianjiang New City is particularly smooth; If you are in a hurry, you can walk for 23 minutes to reach Line 1 City Station, and you can also quickly transfer to Xiaoshan Airport by taking the subway. Self driving friends are more worry free. The hotel comes with exclusive parking spaces, so you don't have to spend half an hour searching for a parking spot on the narrow roads of West Lake scenic area, avoiding the trouble of traffic restrictions in the scenic area.
The walking distance around the hotel hides the most essence of the West Lake South Line. A 3-minute walk outside is the core scenic area of Liulang Wenying. You don't have to squeeze into the crowd at the entrance of the scenic area. Follow the weeping willow trail and you can directly walk to the lake. When there is no one in the morning, the thin mist on the entire lake surface seems to be exclusive to you. Walk south for 15 minutes to reach Leifeng Pagoda, and walk north for 20 minutes to reach Hefang Street and Qinghefang Historical District. After strolling through the ancient alleys of old Hangzhou, turn around and you can enjoy authentic scallion braised buns and Dingsheng cake.
The most surprising thing is the density of local cuisine. Within a 10 minute walk, there are several time-honored brands that have been open for decades. On the way to Hefang Street, you can find the old Hangzhou people's taste. A cage of Cat's ears (Steamed cat-ear shaped bread) with a piece of Sichuan is the most authentic flavor of Jiangnan; Walk 12 minutes to Qingbomen. The Hangbang Restaurant, which is often used by local residents, is hidden in the old lane, and dozens of people can eat West Lake Fish in Vinegar Sauce with fresh eyebrows. If you want to taste something special, you can walk 15 minutes to Nanshan Road, where Wanghong Cafe and old tea houses are scattered under the wutong tree, so you won't get tired of sitting for an afternoon.
Almost all the surrounding attractions are within a half-hour walking circle. Walk west along the hotel's private lakeshore line and it will take 20 minutes to reach Qianwang Temple. It will take 30 minutes to reach the south entrance of Sudi. Walk slowly along Sudi and you will reach Huagang for fish watching. Just take a two stop bus to Jingci Temple, listen to the sound of the Nanping Evening Bell, and come out in the evening just in time for the Leifeng sunset. At night, if you want to experience the night of West Lake, you can walk for 25 minutes to West Lake Heaven and Earth. After enjoying the night scenery with the lake breeze, walk slowly back to the hotel without having to take a taxi and squeeze into the return traffic of the scenic area.
During this stay at Hangzhou West Lake Liuyingli Hotel, there was no rush like rushing to West Lake in the past. Just a few steps away from home, you could easily encounter the lake light of West Lake and the fireworks of old Hangzhou. You didn't need to make complicated transportation plans, and you could leisurely enjoy the scenery of the southern route. Next time I come to Hangzhou, I will definitely choose to stay here and slowly walk through the surrounding alleys of Nanshan Road.Show more
